Production Worker - 2nd Shift - Start ASAPThis role involves operating press and weld machines in a high-volume manufacturing environment, supporting production for automotive and aerospace components. You will work on either 1st shift (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) or 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), Monday through Friday, with overtime on Saturdays as needed. You will handle coil-fed stamping presses, perform quality checks, assist with die changes, and help maintain a safe and organized work area.ResponsibilitiesOperate press and weld machines, including coil-fed stamping presses, in a fast-paced production environment.Use hand tools, metrology equipment, and plasma cutters to support production and ensure parts meet specifications.Monitor product quality by checking parts with gauges and documenting results to verify and record quality standards.Assist die setters with die changes to support efficient machine setup and minimize downtime.Perform basic troubleshooting activities on presses to identify and resolve minor issues.Pack parts using available equipment and follow established packaging procedures.Maintain a clean and safe work area through basic housekeeping, including managing scrap containers and keeping workstations organized.Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working around presses and welding machines.Support general production tasks such as inspection, assembly, and general labor as needed.Perform various other duties as required by leadership to support overall production goals.Lift up to 40 pounds for short periods of time and stand for extended periods during the shift.Essential SkillsAt least 6 months of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive or aerospace production.Experience in environments related to automotive or aerospace manufacturing, with openness to candidates from large distribution centers.Hands-on experience with general production, machine operation, or machine operating tasks.Ability to perform inspection, packaging, and general labor duties in a manufacturing setting.Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate quality checks and documentation.Capability to stand for extended periods of time throughout the shift.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for short periods of time.Willingness and availability to work weekends and overtime as needed.Comfort working in a loud stamping facility with large presses and welding equipment.Basic familiarity with hand tools and safe equipment handling.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious forklift or crane experience is a strong plus.Experience working in high-volume automotive or aerospace manufacturing environments.Experience in general labor, production, assembly, or machine operation.Comfort using metrology equipment, gauges, and basic measuring tools.Ability to work across multiple buildings or production areas as needed.Reliable work history demonstrating consistent attendance and commitment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Clemens, MI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
