Title: Mold Process EngineerLocation: MDJob SummaryWe are seeking a hands-on Mold Process Engineer with expertise in scientific injection molding to support high-precision manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining molding processes while supporting new product launches, troubleshooting process issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong technical knowledge in injection molding, process validation, tooling, and quality systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, optimize, and sustain scientific injection molding processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cycle times.Lead process development activities for new product introductions (NPI), including DFM reviews, PFMEA, and PPAP support.Troubleshoot molding defects, machine issues, and process variations using Root Cause Analysis (RCA).Collaborate with tooling and maintenance teams on mold design improvements, preventive maintenance, and refurbishment activities.Monitor and maintain SPC charts and support process validation activities including IQ/OQ/PQ.Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, downtime, and process variation.Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.Train and mentor technicians and operators on scientific molding techniques and SOPs.Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and manufacturing standards.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.3–7 years of experience in injection molding/process engineering within manufacturing environments.Strong knowledge of scientific molding principles and injection molding processes.Experience with DFM, PFMEA, PPAP, SPC, and process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ).Familiarity with mold tooling design, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Proficiency with Moldflow/simulation tools and CAD software is preferred.Understanding of polymer rheology and mold thermodynamics.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Experience in automotive or medical device manufacturing is preferred.RJG certification is a plus.
