Sr. Accountant

Together we manage over $300 million in assets across nearly 20,000 acres in California, Oregon, and Washington, transforming conventional acreage into sustainable, organic, and regenerative production systems that create long-term value for investors, farm operators, and the land itself.Role Description:This is a full-time, on-site role located in Monmouth, OR, for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant owns key components of the monthly close and balance sheet for Green Spring Farms and its related entities, with responsibility for reconciliations, intercompany activity, allocations, and investor reporting. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role ensures financial information is accurate, timely, and well-documented, and serves as a technical resource across routine accounting cycles, audit support, and process improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities and Expectations:• Own assigned areas of the month-end close, including journal entry preparation, account analysis, and meeting close deadlines• Reconcile general ledger accounts in a timely manner to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records• Complete bank account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies and accounting standards• Complete balance sheet reconciliations for all funds• Record and review lease-related monthly transactions and leased/rental land and equipment activity• Maintain and execute allocation methodologies across multiple entities and funds; recommend updates as the business evolves• Process and manage intercompany invoicing and accounts receivable• Perform intercompany reconciliations and assist with related entries• Prepare and post investor reconciliations and journal entries• Monitor bank account activity and record transactions between entities and funds• Prepare monthly cost rollups and record entries to Inventoried Growing Crop (IGC) within the balance sheet across all crops• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and issue resolution• Lead audit support for assigned areas, including preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding directly to auditor inquiries• Drive or contribute to special projects such as process improvements, system implementations, and ad hoc financial analysisRequired Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with exposure to farm or agricultural accounting• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles• Proficient in accounting software, (CenterPoint experience is a plus)• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling)• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional partnership and audit interactionsPreferred Qualifications: • Experience with multi-entity and/or multi-fund accountingCompensation and Benefits: • Competitive salary commensurate with experience• Performance-based bonus eligibility• Medical, Dental, Life, AD&D and FSA • 401(k) with company match• Paid time off, paid holidays, and professional development support• Opportunity to work with a mission-driven team focused on sustainable agriculture Green Spring Farms, LLC and Farmland LP are equal opportunity employers.
