School Behavior Specialist in Andover, MN

Job Description Must have completed Behavior Specialist / ABA Therapy training and have a minimum 1+ years Behavior Therapy experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) role is available to support multiple elementary schools within a school district in Andover, MN. This contract position runs from January 5, 2026, to June 5, 2026, with an average of 18.75 working hours per week, commonly scheduled between 8:30 AM and 4:10 PM. The BIS will collaborate closely with another BIS and the Special Education Administrator, providing guidance and support in behavior interventions for students.Key Responsibilities:Consult and implement positive behavior interventions and supports across four elementary schools.Collaborate with educational teams to develop appropriate programming tailored to individual student needs.Conduct functional behavior assessments to inform intervention plans.Apply de-escalation techniques and behavior reinforcement strategies to promote positive student behaviors.Utilize restrictive procedures when necessary to ensure student and staff safety.Support the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) in compliance with district policy and federal regulations.Train staff members on behavioral strategies and recommendations.Use data-driven approaches to guide programming decisions and measure student progress.Maintain a positive, safe learning environment and adhere to school policies and procedures.Demonstrate flexibility and calm response during crisis situations.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.Qualifications:Licensed as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or certified Special Education Teacher with Tier 3 or Tier 4 license.Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification alone does not qualify.Experience working in school settings with children requiring behavioral interventions.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Ability to implement behavior plans and conduct assessments independently.Location: Andover, Minnesota (supporting four elementary schools in nearby communities)This role presents an excellent opportunity for professionals seeking a focused contract position contributing to student success in multiple school environments.
