This position is part of a solid team working to deliver Altia’s financial mission and objectives. The selected candidate will bring a strong background and skillset in accounting and finance activities and a strong desire to continue to grow with the Finance team and with Altia.
To ensure technical alignment, candidates reaching the final stages of our recruitment process will be asked to complete a brief accounting assessment.
Primary Responsibilities
Company’s full expenditure cycle worldwide:
Responsible for third party vendor payment processing, credit card, and employee reimbursement platforms. Oversight includes ensuring the platform is maintained to connect seamlessly to the accounting platform
Processing vendor invoices, credit card payments, and employee expense reimbursement (reviewing, booking, filing, and payment)
Work in coordination with multiple external accounting professional firms to process international expenditures
Vendor tracking and maintenance (requesting W-9s and maintaining vendor control log)
Correspondence with suppliers/vendors as necessary
Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts ensuring supporting documentation for all relevant activity
Maintaining and reconciling Fixed Assets register
Bank reconciliations
Prepare sales and use tax filings
Prepare and file annual 1099sPrepare German VAT returns, EC sales listing and Z4 report
Preparation for and participation in annual financial statement audit
Coordinating and collaborating with global operations on shared initiatives
Ad hoc projects as needed
Growth Opportunities

Education and Experience
5 years of general accounting experience. Mix of public and industry experience is a plus
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related financial discipline
Rock solid understanding of core areas of GAAP
Advanced Excel skills required including complex formulas and pivot tables
System integration experience a plus
Expertise with financial systems utilized in previous positions required. Experience with NetSuite a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and German language
Team player with ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Intellectual curiosity balanced with an orientation for proper prioritization and ability to complete assignments on a timely basis
Positive and energetic approach to daily/monthly/quarterly tasks, as well as new projects
Ability to learn and apply new knowledge quickly, performing with precision
Desire to grow and continually develop new skills
Propensity to embrace change and to foster the evolution of processes as the company grows
Physical requirements: Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for 4 hours per day
Great attention to detail, ability to organize themselves & work very efficiently.
Placement Details
Company Global Headquarters: Colorado Springs, CO
Position Location: Germany remote home office
Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Financial Global Controller located in Germany
Position Status: Part Time (20 hours per week)
Base Salary Range: EUR 30,000 – EUR 35,000 dependent upon experience.
