DescriptionAssistant Production Manager - Pasta & MozzarellaUncle Giuseppe's Marketplace - Port Jefferson, NYWe're seeking an Assistant Production Manager for our Pasta & Mozzarella Department at our Port Jefferson Station store. This hands-on role focuses on crafting fresh pasta and mozzarella using Uncle Giuseppe's authentic Italian recipes while supporting the overall operations of the department.What You'll Do:Make fresh mozzarella from curd and pasta from scratch, engaging all senses to maintain and elevate product qualityRecord daily ingredient weights, batch sizes, and amounts transferred to other outletsAdjust time cycles and ingredient quantities as needed to ensure consistent product qualityHandle, weigh, package, and label pasta and mozzarella offerings with care and attention to detailStock display refrigerators accurately and efficientlyAssist the Production Manager with hiring, training, scheduling, and overseeing daily operationsProvide guest service and educate customers about our pasta and mozzarella-making processMaintain a clean and safe workstation, following all food safety and sanitation practicesEnsure department supplies are stocked and used properlyPerform other duties as assignedWhat We're Looking For:High school diploma or equivalent required3+ years of hands-on experience in pasta and/or mozzarella production, including working with doughs and curds by handKnowledge of industrial equipment used in pasta and cheese production, with the ability to train staff on proper use and cleaningStrong attention to detail and excellent communication skillsAbility to speak, read, and understand EnglishPrevious cheese-making or food production experience preferredWhy You'll Love Working Here:We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, 50% off in-store lunch, 25% off in-store shopping, and more!Working Conditions:
