Sales Intern Hotel Sales DepartmentLocation: Hampton Inn/ Home2 Suites Austin East Department: Sales & Marketing Reports To: General Manager Schedule: Part-Time (Flexible Hours Available) Duration: [Example: 1216 weeks / Semester-Based]Position SummaryThe Sales Intern will support the Sales Department with daily administrative and sales coordination tasks while gaining hands-on experience in hospitality sales, marketing, and revenue generation. This role is designed to provide real-world exposure to hotel operations, client engagement, and business development strategies. The intern will work closely with the Sales Team to assist in driving group, corporate, and leisure business.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Administrative SupportAssist with responding to sales inquiries and client requests in a timely and professional mannerSupport the preparation of proposals, contracts, and sales presentationsMaintain accurate client and account information in the CRM systemAssist with rooming lists, group blocks, and event detailsHelp coordinate site tours and client visitsOrganize sales files and documentationMarketing & OutreachAssist with sales blitzes, prospecting calls, and lead generation effortsSupport email marketing campaigns and promotional outreachHelp create marketing materials, flyers, and social media content (if applicable)Conduct market research on competitors and local business opportunitiesEvent & Group CoordinationAssist in the coordination of group arrivals and event logisticsCommunicate with Operations teams to ensure successful execution of group stays and eventsSupport pre-arrival planning and post-event follow-upsInternship Development & Learning Components (Added Responsibilities)Participate in weekly sales meetings and strategy sessionsShadow Sales Managers and Directors during client calls, site visits, and negotiationsLearn hotel revenue management basics including occupancy, ADR, and RevPARGain exposure to brand sales systems and reporting toolsComplete assigned learning projects such as market analysis, sales reports, or outreach campaignsAssist with quarterly goals tracking and performance metricsQualificationsCurrently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Hospitality, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related program (preferred)Strong organizational and communication skillsProfessional demeanor with strong customer service focusProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or Google WorkspaceAbility to multitask and work in a fast-paced environmentInterest in hospitality sales, marketing, or hotel operationsPreferred SkillsExperience with CRM or hotel sales systems (Delphi, CI/TY, Salesforce, or similar) a plusSocial media or content creation experience is a bonusStrong attention to detail and follow-throughComfortable speaking with clients via phone and emailWhat You'll GainHands-on hospitality sales experienceExposure to real-world hotel revenue strategiesProfessional mentorship and career development opportunitiesNetworking opportunities within the hospitality industryResume-building experience with measurable impact
