Auto Parts Counterman OpportunityRiverhead Nissan, located on Rte 58, Riverhead, NY is seeking to hire an Auto Parts Counterman. Looking to hire someone with automotive experience to be trained for a career in New Car Auto Parts. This is an immediate hire opportunity!We will teach you the ins and outs of the business, including the wholesale side of the business!!!We are seeking a candidate who can do the following:Putting away stock and pulling wholesale ordersEnsure that the Parts Department is kept neat and clean at all times.Assist technicians and answer wholesale inquiriesYou will also be responsible for filling in when delivery drivers are out or on vacation.You must have the ability to multitaskReynolds & Reynolds / Ignite experience is preferred, but not mandatoryResponsible for assisting with shipping and receivingGood organizational skills and detail-oriented are a mustSaturdays are mandatoryWe will provide you with a:Salary $52K – $60K per year / based on your level of experienceWeekly salary plus aggressive month end commission.A medical benefits plan is availableA 401K planPaid vacationRoom for growth in our organizationResponsibilities:Oversee the parts sales process from start to finishCommunicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional mannerConverse effectively/efficiently regarding customer parts statusRead and understand the parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific partsAnswer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information to customersReview body shop estimates to verify the parts ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimateProvide high level service to both internal and external customersPull/fill orders from stock and maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stockNotify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attentionLocate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessaryMake sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orderReceive payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorizationQualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent and prior auto parts sales experience (preferred)Eager to improve in a dynamic work environmentStrong interpersonal and time management skillsAbility to read/interpret safety and maintenance documentsAbility to calculate figures/amounts including; discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, %, area, circumference, and volumeValid driver's license and clean driving recordWe are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
