S&P Global MobilityS&P Global has recently announced the intent to separate our Mobility Segment into a standalone public company.For more information, visit www.spglobal.com/mobility.Cloud Platform Engineer and DevOpsLocation: Southfield, Michigan (hybrid setting 2 days per week onsite) or Mexico (Virtual).The TeamThe S&P Global Automotive Data Strategy team is a close-knit, highly skilled group responsible for building and supporting large-scale cloud platforms and data processing solutions. The team operates across multiple disciplines, including cloud architecture, DevOps, business analysis, data analysis, and data engineering.We design and develop cloud platforms, shared data assets, and reusable solutions that are leveraged across the organization. The team owns the DevOps function for a large-scale cloud-based data processing environment and establishes best practices for cloud infrastructure and data processing. We also provide guidance to other project teams on cloud modernization initiatives and scalable data solutions.Responsibilities And ImpactCore ResponsibilitiesArchitect, build, implement, and support new platforms using cloud native technologies. Design, build, test, and document new capabilities for a large-scale data processing platform within AWS native.Design and implement scalable, automated infrastructure solutions using infrastructure-as-code methodologies and cloud-native servicesCollaborate with team members to identify opportunities for improvement and develop new solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing platformsDevelop and enhance solutions to improve platform performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency while supporting high-volume data workflowsProvide operational support through on-call rotations, ensuring high availability and timely incident resolution, including root cause analysisPartner with data engineering and development teams to design and deploy robust automated deployment pipelines for platform updates and feature releasesDesign and build robust operational support solutions such as monitoring and disaster recoveryAdditional Responsibilities May IncludePresent solutions and transfer knowledge to user communities and senior leadershipProvide guidance to teams building data pipelines within the AWS cloud big data processing environmentEvaluate technical options and conduct proof-of-concept initiatives for new functionalityMonitor platform costs and plan and execute remediation activitiesConduct design and code reviews to ensure adherence to standardsEnhance system monitoring, logging, alerting, and reportingSupport release management activities, including coordination and communication with end usersWhat We’re Looking ForBasic Required Qualifications5+ years of experience designing and supporting cloud infrastructure and servicesStrong experience with cloud-based data processing, storage, orchestration, and automation servicesExperience building solutions with key AWS technologies such as S3, Glue, EMR Serverless, Lambda, MWAA, DynamoDB, and CloudWatchHands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and automation frameworksProven experience with designing creative new solutions in AWS nativeExperience with solution architecture, including evaluating technology options, design, build, validation, and promotionProficiency in modern programming languages for automation, tooling, and platform developmentStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively across cross-functional teamsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAdditional Preferred QualificationsExperience with serverless architecture in AWS nativeExperience integrating cloud solutions with scanning and monitoring toolsExperience working with automotive data or other complex, domain-specific data setsExperience with cloud security practices, including monitoring, compliance, and vulnerability managementExperience with cloud cost optimization, monitoring, and remediationProven experience building and managing automated deployment and release pipelinesExperience leveraging generative AI tools to improve efficiency, such as researching new technologies or assisting with solution design and logic developmentRight To Work RequirementsThis role is open only for candidates with indefinite right to work within the USA.Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only)S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $90,000 – $140,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographical location as well as experience and qualifications for the role.In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
