Database DeveloperContract to hireHybrid (1 day/ week)Pipersville, PA Position SummaryHands-on SQL Server Database Developer supporting net-new development and enhancements driven by business initiatives across ERP, e-commerce, CRM, and logistics data. This is a development role, not an administration role. The developer will build and tune database objects, write and maintain ETL, profile and cleanse data sourced from legacy ERP systems, and partner with the existing Data Architect to deliver against a steady project backlog.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign, write, and optimize T-SQL stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and indexes in SQL Server.Diagnose and resolve performance issues using execution plans, SQL Profiler traces, wait statistics, and index analysis.Build and maintain SSIS packages moving data between legacy ERP, e-commerce platforms, CRM, and downstream consumers.Profile source data, write validation and reconciliation queries, and implement cleansing logic for data sourced from legacy ERP systems.Translate business requirements from non-technical stakeholders into database designs, ETL flows, and reporting structures.Debug data defects, ETL failures, and procedural logic errors end to end.Contribute to schema design decisions alongside the Data Architect; uphold existing patterns and conventions.Document objects, jobs, and data lineage sufficient for handoff and on-call support.Required SkillsSQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) — daily development environment.SQL Profiler — workload capture, deadlock and blocking analysis, slow-query identification.SQL performance tuning — index design, statistics, query rewrites, execution plan reading, parameter sniffing mitigation, set-based logic.Debugging and troubleshooting across stored procedures, ETL jobs, and data pipelines.Deep data understanding — profiling, validation, insight extraction, cleansing, reconciliation.Preferred SkillsSSIS — control flow, data flow, parameterization, SSISDB deployment.ERP and/or e-commerce backend database development (product, order, customer, inventory schemas).Working knowledge of inventory, accounting, or financial transaction concepts (GL posting, inventory valuation, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay).Soft SkillsDirect, clear communication with technical and business stakeholders.Self-starter; drives requirement clarification rather than waiting for fully specified tickets.Assertive in technical discussions; comfortable as the second technical voice on the team.Data DomainsLegacy ERP systems — large data volumes, migration and integration work.E-commerce — public retail storefront, product and item catalog, client accounts.CRM — customer master and account data.Logistics — shipping, warehouse, and fulfillment data.What’s in it For You…?Join a team dedicated to building and enhancing digital technology and directly impact the member experience and enhance how members interact with technology.
