THE POSITION:
Behavior Technician - Psychology & Education Majors - Troy – Full-time or Part-time (at least 3 days/week) No weekends
ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy targets each child's socially significate behaviors in order to improve their quality of life. The child’s progress is tracked and measured. ABA therapy is also used to increase language, communication skills, attention, focus, social skills, memory, and academics.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to clients with Autism. You will be supervised by a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) and will aid in implementing treatment and programs created by the BCBA.
Work 1x1 with child with special needs
Collect and record data on patient behavior
Collaborate, communicate, and assist with the training of clients
Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients and families
Required Skills/Abilities:
Desire to serve others
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Compassionate and kind demeanor
Able to multitask
Able to act decisively and maintain client dignity
Proficient computer skills required.
Must be physically fit and able to lift and carry patients
Education and Experience:
Paid training provided in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis)
High School diploma or GED
Must be 18 years of age or older
Experience working with children and/or special needs community preferred but not required
