Sr Lead Analyst, Retail Planning

Job TitleThis role will lead financial projections and analysis of actual results for the ERCOT Residential and Mass portfolios. Coordinating efforts across multiple stakeholders including Retail Pricing and Analytics and Accounting. The ideal candidate brings robust technical skills and a proven ability to deliver solutions to complex challenges.Key AccountabilitiesDevelop usage forecasts for retail customers that support energy purchasing, hedging, and internal financial projections across all regions and customer categoriesDesign and implement systems to track and analyze accuracy of historical usage forecasts monthlyMaintain deadlines, and ensure a well-organized process with a focus on continuous improvementDrive variance analysis and reporting packages that communicate results versus plan/projection to internal/external stakeholdersSupport long term, strategic enterprise initiatives related to customer usage and associated data platformsWork with members of IT to manage Vistra's data warehouse, performing user testing and defining data warehouse requirements; manage IT task force initiativesPartner with other parts of Retail Planning to build tools/models around the data warehouse to support various analysesCreate controls and validations in financial models, processes, and reportsMonitor relevant electricity and natural gas markets and advise on impacts to businessEducation, Experience, & Skill RequirementsExperience gained through college degree programs and/or certification in Finance, Accounting or related fields.5+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Accounting, Technology, or business operationsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong prioritization skills and ability to accomplish objectives individually and through team effortsDemonstrated ability to interface with and resolve issues with multiple stakeholdersSuperior analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to make recommendations even when not all data is available or completeExperience with forecasting and modelingExperience working with data and ability to query and analyze data in an efficient mannerDemonstrated competencies including process design, coding/programming, and experience with related tools and applications (Python, R, SAS/SQL, VBA, Snowflake, Hadoop, KNIME Analytics)Experience developing, training, and scoring complex mathematical and behavioral modelsFamiliarity with different modeling constructs (regression, neural network, etc)Experience with cross-functional project management
