Software Support Specialist (with Scripting Skills)We are seeking a Software Support Specialist with strong problem-solving skills and experience writing scripts to support, maintain, and improve business applications. This role bridges technical support and light development, helping troubleshoot issues, automate tasks, and support users and systems effectively.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide tier 2/3 software support for internal and/or customer-facing applicationsInvestigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues, including log analysis and root-cause identificationWrite and maintain scripts to automate processes, validate data, and support system operationsAssist with system configuration, updates, and deploymentsCollaborate with developers, QA, and infrastructure teams to resolve complex issuesDocument procedures, scripts, known issues, and solutionsSupport users by explaining technical solutions in clear, non-technical languageParticipate in on-call or after-hours support as needed (if applicable)Required Skills & Experience2+ years of experience in software or application supportExperience writing scripts in one or more of the following:PowerShellPythonSQL (for data validation and troubleshooting)Strong troubleshooting and analytical skillsExperience reviewing logs, error messages, and system outputFamiliarity with ticketing systems (Jira)Ability to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesPreferred / Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience supporting enterprise or cloud-based applicationsBasic understanding of APIs, integrations, or web servicesExperience with version control (Git)Experience working with databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)Experience with public utilities.Soft SkillsStrong communication skills (written and verbal)Customer-focused mindsetDetail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem solvingAbility to collaborate across technical and non-technical teamsJ-18808-Ljbffr
