This part-time role focuses on building foundational skills, facilitating language acquisition, and fostering confidence in a supportive, community-based setting. The Instructor will facilitate morning and/or afternoon classes, helping students build foundational literacy skills while developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in English.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver engaging, in-person instruction to adult learners in literacy and ESL (speaking, listening, reading, and writing).Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to multi-level classrooms and diverse learning needs.Support student onboarding processes, including intake assessments, pre- and post-testing, and goal setting.Track attendance, learner progress, and completion of instructional modules.Integrate digital tools and online learning platforms to enhance instruction.Foster an inclusive, supportive, and culturally responsive learning environment.Collaborate with program staff and community partners to support student success.Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and student success.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree required (Adult Education, English, ESL, or related field preferred).At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with adult learners or in secondary education.Strong instructional and classroom management skills.Experience in data collectionExperience or familiarity with ESL methodologies and literacy instruction.Ability to work with learners from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.Preferred QualificationsTESOL, ESL, or Adult Education certification.Experience with workforce readiness or contextualized ESL instruction.Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.Program ContextEach One Teach One (EOTO) provides accessible, community-based literacy and ESL programs for adult learners across San Antonio. Programs are designed to be flexible and learner-centered, supporting individuals from beginner to advanced levels.
