Tax Associate

FocusPartners Wealth seeks a motivated and qualified individual for theposition of Tax Associate. The individual selected for this opportunitywill be a part of a dynamic team of professionals working with athletes,entertainers, entertainment industry professionals and otherhigh-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Primary responsibilities: Analyze,review and compile tax return data. Preparefederal, state and local income tax returns for individuals and businesses.Prepareextensions and assist with tax notices as needed.Preparequarterly tax estimates and assist with tax projections.Performwork accurately and in a time efficient manner, with strong attention todetail, organization, and follow through.Gaintechnical knowledge by researching and learning tax laws as required.Analyzeclient information and offer recommendations for reducing client taxliabilities.Communicateeffectively with tax managers, advisors, and their clients in a timely andprofessional manner.Operate ina fully compliant manner to protect clients’ and the firm’s information.Act as aresource to the business management team for tax planning, tax research,and ongoing education of tax-related developments.Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 1 + years’ relevant experience. Ademonstrated focus on preparing individual, S-corporation and partnershiptax returns.Superbwritten and verbal communication skills; strong problem solving,technology, communication and organizational skills.Proficiencyin Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, and proven ability tolearn other technology.Notableattention to detail, self-initiated follow-through, and outstanding timemanagement.Ability towork individually and in a team atmosphere.The willingness and ability to work additional hours, as needed, during busy season.Preferred Qualifications: CPA, CPAcandidate or EA granting the ability to represent clients before the IRS.Experiencepreparing multi-state tax returns.Experiencewith ProSystem fx® Tax, CCH Axcess and BNA Income Tax™ Planner.
