You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.A Day in the LifeThe BAS Engineer II will be responsible for providing technical oversight to the Enterprise BAS, which includes engineering, design, installation, service, upgrades, usage, and repairs. This position will provide in-depth technical expertise and solutions to: lead/manage milestones within BAS facility projects, drive standardization of the Enterprise BAS, optimize HVAC/electrical systems, maintain existing BAS infrastructure, and facilitate continuous improvements to the BAS components, processes, and procedures. This position will independently interact with key customers, mechanics, and management to provide operating efficiency and effective troubleshooting of building systems.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.Lead continuous improvement of, adherence to, and modifications of Medtronic BAS Standards and SOP’sReview/mark-up engineering drawings, specifications, and equipment/system designs for facility infrastructure projectsPerform commissioning documentation creation, review, & execution along with BAS Validation effortsManage and/or provide oversight on small to moderately sized BAS-related projects or milestones within larger projects, from concept through execution Manage financial aspects of BAS projects/initiatives including drafting and submitting RFP/bid documents, creating/tracking purchase orders, capital expenditure requestsIndependently set objectives aimed at completing assigned tasks/projectsProvide oversight to the creation and maintenance of BAS schematics, drawings, and graphics to ensure adherence to BAS Standards. Ensure accuracy of as-built drawings Lead/manage contractors performing installation and programming on any/all BAS componentsPerform installation, programming inspection, testing and repair of pneumatic, electric, electronic, and digital control equipment. Perform routine preventative maintenance on various BAS sensors/devices as scheduled by the CMMSLead HVAC root cause analysis, trending of data, and execute corrective actions promptlyWork in controlled cleanroom environments, following all applicable SOPs and guidelinesParticipate in long term BAS strategy and contingency planning. Identify/implement new technology as well as actively monitor/mitigate risks related to equipment end-of-life Provide training to Maintenance/Facility Staff on BAS operationsProvide support during off-hours, both onsite and remote as needed. Adhere to operational policies, procedures, and safety requirementsPerform additional duties as requestedDocument work performed, root cause, and resolutions in a CMMSTrains, delegates, and reviews the work of lower level employees and may be responsible for leading daily operations of a work team.Travel up to 25% Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R.214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.Nice to HaveExperience with BAS design, installation, commissioning, and trainingMust have excellent mechanical system knowledge (HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems)Experience with the MS Office software suiteAdvanced Tridium/Niagara BAS CertificationAnalytics software experience – Clockworks, Analytika, etc2-year (or higher) trade school certificateExperience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)EPA refrigeration “universal certification”Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsExperience with statistical process controlAbility to read and understand blue prints, shop drawings, and schematicsSelf-motivatedExperience with integrated building solutions including temperature control, critical environment monitoring, power management and alarming, zoned lighting control and facility access controlExperience with Enterprise BAS hardware/systems (Tridium Niagara based Niagara and/or Distech)Experience with automation protocols including Modbus, BACnet, and LonWorks.Physical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position. PR) locations (USD):$79,200.00 - $118,800.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
