Process Technician - Solar Cell Module Manufacturing

We are driven by a mission to power the space economy and unlock limitless opportunities in orbit and beyond.The Role:As a Process Technician at Solestial, you will play a hands-on role in building our next-generation solar modules by following established manufacturing processes. This includes both manual and automated production, requiring the safe operation of solar module equipment and Solestial's R&D manufacturing line.You will also support engineers as we transition our solar module manufacturing processes to a high-volume production environment. In our large-scale manufacturing line, Process Technicians perform operational preventive maintenance, diagnose and troubleshoot intermediate-level equipment alarms, execute basic quality control procedures, and use hand tools and production systems to keep manufacturing running safely and efficiently.This is an exciting position as part of a positive, supportive, and passionate team! A competitive compensation package, including full benefits, will be offered.Specific Responsibilities to Include:Assemble and build photovoltaic (PV) modules according to established procedures and quality standardsSafely operate manufacturing tools and equipment to support production goals and product qualityPerform assigned tasks in accordance with training, documented procedures, and supervisor guidanceMonitor equipment operation, process parameters, and system alarmsCollect and document process data; make decisions based on established procedures to maintain process controlIdentify abnormal conditions, escalate issues appropriately, and communicate recommendations effectivelyCollaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challengesCommunicate production status, issues, and priorities during shift handoffsPerform basic mechanical maintenance using hand tools and measurement equipment on manufacturing systemsAdhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environmentMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and cleanroom standardsSupport continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assignedYour Background:High school diploma or GED requiredAssociate degree or higher in a STEM-related field preferredMinimum of 3 years of relevant industry experienceExperience working in an R&D or advanced manufacturing environmentSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiativeHands-on experience assembling small, delicate components with strong manual dexterityAbility to spend extended periods sitting and/or standing while performing detailed assembly workAbility to work in a Class 1,000 cleanroom environmentComfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing prioritiesStrong commitment to safety and compliance with all company policies and proceduresBasic troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skillsPositive attitude and strong teamwork skillsPrevious experience in a cleanroom manufacturing environment (production or R&D) is preferredExperience in solar, semiconductor, electronics, aerospace, or related manufacturing industries is highly desirableOur Benefits: Competitive salary Generous, high-quality medical, dental, and vision coverage on day one of employment15 vacation days, 5 sick days, and 10 paid holidays annually - with an extended holiday break at year’s end401K with employer match up to 4% of salaryEmployer-paid short-term and long-term disability and employer-sponsored life insuranceYour impact will extend beyond our labs - supporting production of solar technology that literally goes to space
