About Tolmar Quality Control
The Quality Control (QC) department performs testing of raw materials, cleaning samples, bulk intermediate and finished product, and/or stability samples, according to established regulatory protocols and procedures, to ensure the quality and safety of all products manufactured at Tolmar. The QC department plays an active role in leading continuous improvement initiatives to improve process efficiency, effectiveness, and safety.
Proposed Work Description
The intern will work on various projects, support scientists with developmental studies, and develop an individual project to work on throughout the summer (project will need to align with Tolmar's processes). The intern will work with personnel form other departments, gain insight into the complexity of pharmaceutical manufacturing, work on professional writing, communication, and leadership. The intern will support commercial QC Chemistry with any documentation archival initiatives, any process improvement implementation tasks, data mining, performing any lab support functions and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic knowledge of laboratory principles and procedures.
An interest in the pharmaceutical industry.
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications.
Effective organization and attention to detail.
Willingness to keep be flexible with work schedule.
Effective oral and written communication; and
Ability to communicate with co-workers, management, and others in a courteous and professional manner.

Education & Experience
Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Chemistry or closely related discipline.
Have completed an analytical chemistry course with a lab; and
Have achieved an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in a laboratory environment but could include office, clean room, or production floor.
Dress is casual but business- or business-casual dress may be required on occasion.
Compensation and Benefits
Base rate is $19.00 per hour
