Job Summary and Qualifications
The Director of Learning and Development manages the implementation of education programs across lines of business, striving to identify and exceed the expectations of their customers. This individual works in collaboration with other Learning and Development departments and is responsible for identifying training needs, providing guidance and support for policy and procedure implementation, delivering user training programs, and identifying improvements in the training programs. The Director of Learning and Development also serves as a key resource for company-wide initiatives such as training needs assessment, program development, and continuous improvement.
What you will do in this role:
Participates in strategic planning with Parallon Corporate Learning and Development leaders and service center stakeholders, establishing long- and short-term priorities and budgets
Develops business cases to propose and implement new strategies, services, and tools
Develops and promotes new educational offerings
Guides and maintains departmental practices, methodologies, policies, and procedures
Identifies operational issues and develops creative solutions to address them
Provides instructional design and development expertise to team members
Oversees education on policies and procedures to support systems, changes, master file standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
Stays abreast of regulatory requirements and company compliance policies in order to provide training updates regarding new legislation and complexities of requirements
Provides training updates regarding new legislation, complexities of existing regulatory requirements, variation in fiscal intermediary interpretations, and other regulatory compliance issues
Ensures job specific training requirements are updated annually user training requirements are effectively addressed through various resources and said resources are routinely updated to incorporate user feedback
Conducts leadership training and orientation
Oversees management of department personnel, providing recommendations for hiring, promotion, salary adjustments, and personnel action where appropriate
Prepares staff review and prepare performance document for direct reports
Assumes a lead role for innovation, knowledge sharing, and leading practices identification within the center and among peer group
Directs day-to-day activities of direct reports and conduct staff reviews
Supports Parallon in company-wide initiatives such as the development of operational models and education programs
Reports on department activities, performance and education-related statistics
Develops specific objectives, budgets, and performance standards for each area of responsibility
Identifies and implements process improvements to lower costs and improve services to facility customers
Maintains working knowledge of Revenue Cycle, workflow, systems, and tools used in the department
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education or related field required
If a desired applicant does not have a Bachelor’s Degree the requirement can be waived IF they are currently in a Bachelor’s Degree program
Minimum five years management experience, specifically leading education or training activities and teams
Healthcare experience preferred
