Founding Chief Scientific Officer

This is not a traditional CSO role. I’m looking for an unusually high-agency, ambitious, and entrepreneurial scientist and operator. You will work with me as a founding partner to build Exonic into a category-defining biotechnology company.Exonic trains frontier AI foundation models for programmable genomics, with a current focus on:- synthetic regulatory DNA- cell-type targeting- biomanufacturingWe’ve generated strong in vitro results with synthetic regulatory elements and are scaling our experimental platform in Dogpatch, San Francisco.The ideal candidate is strong at pitching on high-stakes calls, inventing next-generation high-throughput experiments, recruiting, or troubleshooting in the lab at midnight.Requirements:- PhD in a biological field- Senior leadership experience at a top biopharma or biotech company- Has cut their teeth in the lab- Evidence of outlier, exceptional ability and grit- High integrity, low egoThis role will come with major, partner-level equity in Exonic.If interested, please apply here or reach out directly to ben@exonic.ai
