Locations and assignments will vary. Apprenticeships will require apprentices to relocate for training as part of the job. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, journeyman opportunities may not be in work locations that the apprentice had trained in.Installs, commissions, maintains and removes equipment, cables and connections on the Avista production Networks. Examples of network equipment include, but are not limited to; switches, routers, modems, remote terminal units, microwave, wireless, terminal servers, WAN optimizers, load balancers, virtual private networks, and time division multiplexing (TDM). Examples of cables include, but are not limited to; fiber optic, low voltage metallic, and coaxial. Investigates and facilitates mitigation of radio frequency interference complaints. May work collaboratively with Engineering and other departments or employees to develop, configure, troubleshoot, install, and complete other related tasks on the Network Systems. Production and/or lab environment testing may be performed on network components.Requirements18 years of age or olderAbility to successfully complete within 180 days of hire company in-house programs or high school/college equivalent courses which may require taking standardized tests to ensure requirements are met: (Must attach certificate of completion to application if previously completed):Basic Math AlgebraBasic Electricity 1Basic Electricity 2TrigonometryDocumentation of high school graduation or completed high school equivalency. Provide transcripts with application.Two (2) years of Technical School or College training in a related field or successful completion of an apprenticeship in a related electrical craft (Electrician, Electric Meter, Power Plant Operator etc.).
