This, along with our remarkable culture of belonging, weekly devotionals, and endless opportunities for learning and growth—all situated within a beautiful and historic campus—make it hard to imagine a more inspiring place to work.Brigham Young University strongly prefers to hire faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Responsible for all of the convenience retail operations on campus including all Creamery stores (Creamery on Ninth, Helaman Creamery, Wyview Creamery, Creamery Outlet, and Stadium Creamery).Essential FunctionsStrategic Coordination and CommunicationExplores growth opportunities within CreameriesResponsible for incorporating and developing CSC products to be offered at all BYU Creamery locations to maximize efficiencyResponsible for maintaining safety and training standards within the scope of operations.Directs and Coordinates product mixes and pricing points throughout the creamery operationsCommunicates with all employees to ensure training and standard operating practices are in placeHas regular one on ones with Direct reports of Creamery Operations to ensure overall sales and customer satisfaction goals are met or exceededDirects Creamery management on employment and disciplinary mattersStudies and recommends strategic direction in order to maximize revenue, maximize efficiencies, product cost savings, inventory turnover, industry standard product velocity and product qualityKeeps all trademark and licensing agreements current and validEnsures Quality Customer ServiceEnsures every customer has an experience that ensures they will continue to frequent the Creamery on 9th.Ensures feedback and additional training to full-time employees and students to address customer service challengesEnsures that all operations uphold the department’s cleanliness/sanitation standards are met, and that inventory is filled and faced, and that all essential equipment is functioning properly.Ensures that all employees are properly trained to uphold food safety standards in compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsOversees and directs training and customer service programs as executed by area managersRegular inspections of areas to ensure department efficiency, cleanliness, and customer service standards are being upheldDeveloping customer feedback channels to maintain a high level of communication and satisfaction for all areasMaintains and enhances good communications and working relationships with customers, student organizations, campus departments, vendors, LDS Church units, and other groups.Financial ResponsibilityMeets with Managing Director to create, review, and approve area annual budgetsMeets with Managing Director often to ensure operations are running smoothly and efficientlyEnsures adherence to budgets for all assigned operationsReviews financial statements with Managing Director and directs course of action to improve operations and reduce variancesFacilitates the preparation of area budgetary forecasts and reportsCoordinates with Accounting office to ensure accuracy of monthly inventory reconciliations of all areasDefining and reviewing product mix reports, labor reports, speed of service reports, and sales reports with Managing Director and direct reports to ensure transparency. MarketingDevelops marketing schemes of Creamery on 9th activities to ensure maximum potential of revenue/sales. Working with Dining Designs, gives final approval on marketing plans for CreameriesAnalyzes impact and successes of marketing strategiesCoordinates with Coca-Cola to develop and implement Coke-specific marketing strategies for the CreameriesEducation/Experience Minimum Education/Experience Required:Bachelor’s degree8 years retail or food management experience5 years as a supervisorOR12 years retail or food management experience5 years as a supervisorPreferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field10 years retail or food management experience5 years as a supervisor3 years collegiate dining experienceOR15 years retail or food management experience5 years as a supervisor3 years collegiate dining experience Required:Skills, Abilities, Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications:ServSafe certification (required, can be provided by department)Excellent organization and planning skillsExperience resolving customer concerns/complaints in a positive wayExperience in developing, training and promoting hourly employees to leadership positionsExperience with inventory management, velocity inventory management, product rotation, and product storage.Experience with handling/anticipating the needs of the guest in a proactive mannerProficient with Microsoft Office (MS) Suite and experience with other computer operationsExperience with MS Outlook or other equivalent email/calendar/task applicationsSchedule and modify appointmentsMaintain multiple distribution lists and massive email contacts folderExperience with MS Excel or equivalent database programCan navigate through intermediate level spreadsheets and tablesUnderstands basics of table properties/spreadsheets, basic formulas, and cell formatting Preferred:Experience with Eatec or other large-scale inventory management programExperience with managerial-level back-end of point-of-sale systems (TBD)Experience managing and disciplining full-time employees.Knowledge and experience in grocery and/or convenience store and/or retail operations.What We Offer In Return:In addition to our competitive pay structure, this position comes with fantastic benefits, including:401k.
