PLC Controls TechnicianLocation: On-site near Moore, SC and Duncan, SC areasShift: Standard Daytime Shift & Night Shift (6:00 PM 3:00 AM), with flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.Compensation: $42 - $50 + OT availability + Night Shift DifferentialA leading national food and beverage manufacturer is seeking a skilled PLC Controls Technician to join their growing operations team on the night shift. With an emphasis on continuous improvement, safety, and automation innovation, this role is a key contributor to operational uptime and equipment reliability in a high-speed manufacturing environment. The company's invested big time in tech and automation, making this a sick opportunity for a tech looking to level up and grow with a major CPG player.Key Responsibilities:Lead advanced electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution of PLC-related equipment issues to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.Utilize software tools including RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, and RSLogix 5 to troubleshoot and optimize programmable logic controller systems.Provide technical support and interface with multiple automation systems, such as Allen Bradley, CompactLogix, SLC500, PLC5, and ControlLogix.Handle tasks like calibrating equipment, swapping out VFDs, fixing wiring issues, and inspecting control panels (for voltages up to 480VAC)Collaborate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and safety teams to investigate recurring failures and implement lasting corrective actions.Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs with an emphasis on continuous improvement and system reliability.Replace and configure various HMI and VFD systems (including PowerFlex and Yaskawa drives), ensuring minimal disruption to production.Assist with new equipment installations, upgrades, and retrofits of PLC-based systems and automation infrastructure.Maintain accurate technical documentation including maintenance logs, PLC program updates, and schematics.Provide training and guidance to maintenance personnel on basic PLC troubleshooting techniques.Stay on top of safety and quality protocolsQualifications:3+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally in food or bev productionDemonstrated expertise with Allen Bradley PLCs and software (ControlLogix, RSLogix, etc.).Can jump into PLC systems via Ethernet I/P, DH+, or RS232 to make changes or updates when needed.Proficient in reading electrical schematics and understanding P&ID symbols and layout drawings.Hands-on experience with multimeters and electrical troubleshooting in high-voltage environments (up to 480VAC).Experience replacing HMI interfaces and working with PanelBuilder 32 or RSView Studio.Familiar with VFDs like PowerFlex 40, 400, 525, and Yaskawa V1000/P1000.Handy with machines and ready to support other maintenance tasks in the plant.Preferred: Rockwell Maintainer certification. Must obtain certification within 24 months of hire if not already certified.
