As a result, they’re looking to hire a Head of Systems Engineering to operate at Chief Engineer level, acting as the technical backbone of the organisation.The RoleYou’ll act as the technical authority across the system, ensuring engineering execution, integration and decision-making stay aligned as the programme scales.Own system-level technical decisions across architecture, requirements and design maturityDrive integration across mechanical, electrical, software, GNC and payload systemsSupport progression from prototype through qualification and mission readinessLead technical reviews, trade-offs and risk-based decisionsWork closely with leadership, engineering teams and external partnersWhat They’re Looking For8+ years’ experience across spacecraft or satellite systemsStrong systems engineering background on mission-critical hardware programmesExperience across design, integration, test and deliveryTechnical grounding (mechanical, electrical, GNC, software etc.) with system-level ownershipComfortable in a fast-paced, high-accountability environmentLikely backgrounds: Principal / Lead Systems Engineer, Chief Engineer, or similar system-level roles.Why It MattersThis is a true system-level role, stepping into a business now responsible for delivering a full mission, not just a component.
