Adjunct faculty are temporary, ad hoc, non-tenure-track teaching positions, hired to teach specific courses as needed by the College. Application materials are held on file for one academic year, after which applicants may resubmit their applications. These contingent positions pay a salary of $4,500 to teach one 4 credit course, with no benefits provided.Qualifications will vary according to position; minimum requirements include an advanced post-graduate degree, with preference for terminal post-graduate degree, in related field of study. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.Non-sectarian since its founding, St. Mary's College of Maryland, a public Carnegie Baccalaureate, Arts and Sciences institution located in St. Mary's City, 70 miles southeast of Washington, D.C., has been designated as Maryland's public honors college.
