Sr. Employee Benefits Captive Insurance Program Manager

Job Description Innovative Captive Strategies (ICS) is seeking an experienced Sr. Employee Benefits Captive Insurance Program Manager to deliver exceptional service and strategic support to agency partners, clients, and carrier partners. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership and captive leaders to manage and grow employee benefits captive insurance programs while ensuring a best-in-class client experience.This position is ideal for a seasoned benefits professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys leading complex initiatives, and brings deep knowledge of captive insurance and self-funded medical programs.Client & Partner EngagementServe as a primary point of contact for agency partners, clients, and carrier partners, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and timely mannerBuild and maintain strong relationships with insurers, underwriters, third-party administrators, pharmacy benefit managers, and other population health partnersCaptive Program LeadershipOversee and execute all core captive processes, including annual renewals, new member onboarding, quarterly calls, and captive committeesLead strategy development and preparation of materials for annual member meetings and quarterly callsFacilitate committee meetings and calls, including coordination, strategic content development, and meeting materialsRenewals & OnboardingManage captive member renewals end-to-end, including tracking timelines, compiling data, and delivering final renewal communicationsLead onboarding of new captive members by coordinating calls, meetings, communications, and required documentationIntegrate seamlessly into broker and client relationships as new members join the captiveAnalysis & Continuous ImprovementReview, analyze, and summarize financial and program data related to captive performanceCollaborate internally on renewal analysis and strategic recommendationsEnhance efficiencies by improving workflows, processes, and proceduresSupport the development and mentoring of Program Managers, Program Assistants, and CoordinatorsExperience & EducationBachelor’s degree preferredMinimum of 7 years of customer service experience in an agency or corporate environmentCaptive insurance experience strongly preferredAbility to obtain and maintain an active Life & Health insurance license within 90 days of hireTechnical KnowledgeStrong understanding of employee benefits and self-funded medical plansAbility to interpret and explain:Captive financial components (collateral, distributions, lasers, retention, etc.)Layer loss reporting and stop loss insurance principlesPlan documents, carrier forms, and policiesPopulation health strategies and vendor solutionsWhy Join ICSInnovative Captive Strategies offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, growth‑focused environment where your expertise directly impacts clients’ long‑term success.
