As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.Job responsibilitiesExecutes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshootingWrites secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidanceDesigns, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implicationsApplies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automationApplies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexityGathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application developmentLearns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systemsAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respectPartners with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into well-designed APIs and intuitive user experiencesSupports integration of AI/GenAI capabilities into applications where applicable (e.g., prompt-based workflows, orchestration patterns, model-backed services)Required qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification on Java software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityStrong experience with Java, Python and ReactJSStrong experience with Spring Boot, web development, REST service, and microservice developmentExperience with modern front-end technologies and patterns using React (component-driven development, state management, performance optimization)Experience with Micro Front-End concepts and/or modular UI architecturesExperience with relational databases (e.g., Postgres) including strong SQL fundamentalsProficient in coding in one or more languages and able to learn new technologies quicklyExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languagesSolid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExposure to Agentic AI / GenAI / AI/ML conceptsDesign and implement cloud-based applications on AWS Cloud environmentsFamiliarity with containers and DevOps, CI/CD processFamiliarity with modern front-end technologiesExposure to cloud technologies and cloud-native patternsAbout UsJPMorganChase, one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world's most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
