Your primary goal is to close achievement gaps and foster a culture of continuous professional growth among educators. In the Superintendent's absence, you, along with the Assistant Superintendent of Business, may serve as the Chief School Administrator.Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum & Instructional Leadership:Direct the full lifecycle of curriculumfrom research and writing to implementation and revisionensuring alignment with state frameworks.Oversee the selection and adoption of all instructional materials, including textbooks, digital resources, and software.Implement and monitor New Jersey Tiered System of Supports (NJTSS) and other specialized intervention programs.Professional Development (PD):Design and manage a district-wide PD plan that supports evidence-based teaching practices and emerging educational technology.Coordinate the orientation and mentorship program for new instructional staff.Data & Assessment:Coordinate all state and local student assessment programs and lead the analysis of longitudinal performance data to drive decision-making. (NJSLEDS, etc)Prepare and present comprehensive academic reports to the Board of Education.Personnel & Fiscal Management:Supervise and evaluate curriculum coordinators, directors, and principals.Develop and manage the curriculum department budget and oversee federal, state, and competitive grants (e.g., Title I, Title II, IDEA).* Community Engagement:* Act as a liaison to parents and community groups, interpreting the district's instructional goals and fostering public support for school initiatives.Required QualificationsEducation: At least a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.Certification: Valid State Principal or School Administrator Certificate/Endorsement.Experience:Minimum of 5 years of successful K12 teaching experience.Minimum of 35 years of progressive administrative experience, preferably in a central office or principal role.Skills:Expertise in data-driven decision-making and strategic planning.Strong interpersonal skills for conflict resolution and collaborative problem-solving.Deep knowledge of educational laws, equity standards, and special education requirements.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENTTwelve (12) months a year.Salary determined by the UFRSD Board of Education, expected to be in the $155,000 to $175,000.00 range. Position includes health, prescription and dental benefits as well as paid time off.EVALUATIONPerformance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of all Personnel.
