Production Stage Manager (Upper School Musical) - Temporary, Non-Exempt

At Pacific Ridge School, our mission statement drives all of our work: In a community that fosters academic excellence, ethical responsibility and global engagement, Pacific Ridge School prepares students for college and a purposeful life.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesFrom November 4, 2026, through March 20, 2027, collaborate with the Arts Department Producer and the director of the play to stage manage the upper-school musical, TBDTake full responsibility for the stage management of the upper-school musicalAttend production meetings as mutually agreed upon by the director of the play, the Arts Department Producer, and all relevant design personnelWhen applicable, manage and guide the training of student assistant stage managers, providing detailed, effective instruction and delegating responsibilities as appropriateAt all times, strive to ensure and cultivate safe, equitable, inclusive, pleasant, and professional educational and working environments for the students and production staffIn close collaboration with the director of the play, help to maintain order and timeliness during rehearsals and performancesCreate, manage, and maintain the production script, recording all blocking and cuesRecord all rehearsal notes, line notes, cues, and blockingDisseminate the production schedule and rehearsal/performance reports to the cast, director, Arts Department Producer, and production staffIn coordination with the Arts Department Producer, director, and designers, oversee the proper care and management of the stage, rehearsal space, props, costumes, set pieces, stagehands, and any other production elementsIssue calls to the actors and run crew prior to and during performances and facilitate communication between the front- and back-of-house staffCall all cues during the run of performancesEnsure the continuity of performancesProduction InformationDirector - Heidi HandelsmanRehearsal Venue - PRS Blackbox Theatre (6269 El Fuerte St, Carlsbad, CA 92009)Performance Venue - Ritz Theater (301 E Grand Ave, Escondido, CA 92025)Rehearsal Times - Typically Monday thru Friday, 3:15-5:15pmAuditions - November 18-20, 2026First Rehearsal - December 7, 2026 (No rehearsals December 18, 2026, thru January 3, 2027; and February 13-21, 2027)Tech/Dress Rehearsal - March 9-12, 2027Dress Rehearsal - March 15-17, 2027Performances - March 18-20, 2027Qualifications (minimum Requirements)Prior stage management experience in professional or educational setting requiredStudents currently pursuing degrees in stage management or related field strongly consideredProfessional experience and/or advanced degree in stage management or related field preferredAdditional Compensation Information$18 per hour with a total earning potential of $6,200
