Interested in a career that matters?Join us as our newest Production Supervisor (Weekends)The Role & Your ImpactThe Production Supervisor works under general direction and is responsible for managing the production process and leading employees on an assigned shift to maximize production results while meeting customer demand.This is a hands‑on leadership role with strong day‑to‑day engagement on the production floor. You will lead and mentor a team of approximately 8–10 employees, foster a safe and positive work environment, and drive performance across safety, quality, productivity, cost, and people.In this role, you will make an impact by:Leading, mentoring, and developing employees by setting clear expectations, assigning work, and monitoring performanceChampioning a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with safety standards and driving continuous improvementManaging departmental operations, including schedules, performance evaluations, and day‑to‑day production activitiesPromoting employee engagement and effective communication through shift meetings, problem resolution, and Heartbeat Survey actionsHiring, training, and developing team members to support both business goals and individual growthDriving continuous improvement using lean manufacturing tools such as 5S, A3, SPS, and KaizenLeading and participating in cross‑functional and CAPEX projects, including the design, validation, and implementation of new processes and equipmentEnsuring compliance with GMP, Food Safety, and Food Defense requirementsProviding daily production support, troubleshooting issues, reviewing production records, and addressing customer complaints and audit findingsWhat You’ll Need To Be SuccessfulBachelor’s degree in a business or science‑related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience1–3 years of supervisory or people‑leadership experienceProficiency in reading, writing, and speaking EnglishStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization and with external contractorsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentSound judgment to make administrative, procedural, and employment‑related decisions in a dynamic settingWorking knowledge of continuous improvement principles and their practical applicationProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsWillingness and ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 10%, as neededAbility to meet the physical requirements of the role, including frequent standing, use of hands, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, and periodic stooping, kneeling, or crouchingVisual acuity including depth perception, close vision, and the ability to adjust focusAdditional Skills & Interests We ValueExperience in food, ingredient, or other regulated manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with lean manufacturing and operational excellence methodologiesExperience acting as a first‑line troubleshooter for production processes and equipmentStrong employee‑relations skills with a constructive, solutions‑focused approachInterest in building a culture of engagement, ownership, and continuous improvementWhat We OfferA leadership role with direct influence on people, performance, and safetyOpportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and site‑level initiativesA culture built on trust, teamwork, and accountabilityLearning and development opportunities within a global organizationWays of Working / Working ConditionsThis is an onsite, shift‑based role within a manufacturing environment.Shift schedule:Friday – 10:00am – 6:30pm (8hrs – Flexible on times)Saturday – 10:00am – 10:30pm (12hrs)Sunday – 10:00am – 10:30pm (12hrs)Monday – 10:00am – 6:30pm (8hrs – Flexible on times)The role requires:Frequent presence on the production floorUse of required personal protective equipment (lab coat, hair/beard net, safety glasses, gloves)Occasional exposure to cold temperatures and production‑related noisePhysical activity including standing, walking, manual dexterity, and occasional liftingCompensation & BenefitsExpected salary range: $75,000 – $90,000Benefits you will enjoy:401(k) with up to 9% company contributionMinimum of 3 weeks of vacation, plus 12 holidays and 2 weeks of Wellness TimeHealth, Dental, Vision, and Life InsuranceHealthcare savings account optionEmployee Assistance ProgramParental leaveTuition reimbursementAll benefits begin on your first dayRelevant InformationLocation: Madison, Wisconsin (on‑site)Application deadline: June 3, 2026Our purpose guides the way In Novonesis, we know that solutions rooted in biology can help solve humanity’s biggest challenges.
