Sr. COBOL Application DeveloperKey Responsibilities:Design, develop, and support enterprise applications in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and Java on LinuxAnalyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutionsParticipate in application design, coding, testing, deployment, and production supportDevelop technical specifications, program documentation, process flows, and testing artifactsTroubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutionsCollaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality softwareProvide project updates, technical recommendations, and development effort estimatesRequired Skills & Experience:10+ years of enterprise COBOL development experienceStrong experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and Java/Linux-based environmentsExperience with Rocket Software (formerly Micro Focus) development toolsAbility to analyze requirements and design technical solutions independentlyExperience with application testing, debugging, and software lifecycle best practicesExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsPreferred Skills:EDI and SAP HANA integration (with COBOL systems) experienceExperience modernizing legacy applicationsFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools for code generation or refactoringBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
