Events Manager

A fast-growing Series A company in the insurance technology space is hiring an Events Manager to build and own its events function from the ground up. Responsibilities - Own the full events motion from strategy through execution, including sponsored events, owned roundtables, hosted dinners, and industry conferences. - Develop the annual and quarterly events strategy, including which events to invest in, why they matter, and what success looks like for each. - Build owned event formats from scratch that feel thoughtful, differentiated, and aligned with a challenger brand in a traditional enterprise category. - Create high-quality experiences for senior buyers by tailoring venues, formats, guest lists, communications, and small personal touches to the people being hosted. - Manage event budgets, vendors, timelines, logistics, and contingency plans end-to-end. - Run on-site execution with calm, polished attention to detail so attendees never feel the complexity behind the scenes. - Partner closely with sales and leadership to make sure every event moves the right people closer to meaningful conversations. - Build repeatable playbooks so the events program can scale as the company grows. - Support pre-event and post-event amplification across channels like LinkedIn and other relevant touchpoints. Requirements - 1–2+ years of experience in event marketing, hospitality, restaurants, hotels, or a closely related field. - Experience owning an event, program, dinner, roundtable, or hospitality experience from planning through execution. - Able to clearly explain the strategy behind an event, not just the logistics. - A strong and specific point of view on what makes an event memorable, thoughtful, and worth attending. - Hospitality-first instincts, with genuine curiosity and empathy for the people being hosted. - Highly organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure. - Comfortable managing vendors, budgets, timelines, guest experience, and backup plans. - Creative thinker who does not default to the same standard B2B event playbook. - Strong fit for someone who has built or hosted dinners, roundtables, private gatherings, or high-touch buyer experiences from scratch. - Excited to work in person in San Francisco 5 days/week, 9 AM–6 PM. - Nice to have: experience with enterprise buyers, insurance, fintech, traditional industries, or pre/post-event marketing amplification. Benefits - Competitive equity. - High-ownership role building the events function from scratch. - Opportunity to shape one of the company’s most important growth channels. - Direct impact on how the company builds trust with senior enterprise buyers. - Early-stage environment with room to create the playbook, not just follow one. - Work closely with leadership, sales, and customers in a highly visible role.
