We're building a future where high-touch, community-driven care is accessible to everyone, especially the most underserved.As the Controller at Pair Team you'll own the accounting function end-to-end, strengthen our financial infrastructure, and partner closely with executive leadership as we scale. You'll operate at the intersection of healthcare complexity and startup velocity, ensuring our systems, controls, and reporting are audit-ready while flexible enough to support rapid growth.This is a fully remote position.What You'll DoOwn the full accounting function (AP/AR, GL, close, reporting)Lead month-end/year-end close and deliver accurate, board-ready financialsDevelop, maintain, and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures that are scalable and audit-readyPartner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and cash managementEnsure compliance with Medicaid/Medicare billing, tax filings, and regulatory requirementsSelect, implement, and optimize accounting systems to scale with growthBuild scalable, automated processes that support a fast-moving startup environmentWhat You'll Need8+ years of progressive Accounting experience; minimum of 2 years of controller or senior accounting experienceExperience building and leading in a high-growth, early-stage startup and strong knowledge of equity accounting and cap table managementBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferredSolid grasp of healthcare finance (CPOM, Medicaid/Medicare billing, value based care, compliance, etc.)Experience coordinating external audits, SOC compliance, and GAAP audit readinessProficiency with accounting software (NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.), expense management platforms (Bill.com, Brex, etc.), and advanced Excel and financial modeling skillsFamiliarity with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Rippling, Gusto, ADP)Familiarity with state and federal tax compliance, including multi-state requirementsStrong collaboration skills with executive and senior thought partnersOwnership mindset – own driving results for the mission, business, and customer experienceStrong desire to work in an early stage startup environment that is fast paced, complex, and has minimal barriers to make decisions (no "red tape")Passion for helping individuals experiencing complex chronic needs such as homelessness, severe mental illness, and substance use disorderOur ValuesLead with integrity: We keep our commitments and take responsibility for our actions.
