Location/Schedule: Crossnore, NC; Full-time. Flexible Schedule, 1st Shift Monday - Saturday (days vary). Hours may vary depending on program needs.
Your Impact: As a Sewing Finisher and Weaver at Crossnore Communities for Children, you will play a pivotal role in bringing our beautiful hand-woven creations to life. You will contribute to our mission by completing hand-woven items that support our gallery sales, enhancing the overall customer experience, and assisting in the day-to-day operations at Crossnore Weavers and Gallery. Your attention to detail, creativity, and ability to connect with diverse customers will help ensure the success of our products and foster a welcoming environment. Hiring Range: Based on production, but will be no less that $16.40/hour

Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Excellent sewing skills required.
Seamstress experience preferred.
Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
Skills and Competencies:
General knowledge of proper sewing techniques and understanding of sewing machine components.
Proficiency in operating a four-harness loom.
High attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination.
Ability to follow directions and a strong willingness to learn all Weaving Room functions.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle repetitive tasks efficiently.
Flexibility to quickly adapt to changes and work in a collaborative team environment.
Confidence in meeting and interacting with customers and visitors, delivering excellent customer service.
Passion for supporting children and the child-serving workforce, demonstrated through professionalism and teamwork.
Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with coworkers and visitors.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Finish hand-woven items for sale at Crossnore Weavers and Gallery, using both sewing machines and hand-stitching techniques.
Assist with washing, folding, and arranging finished products for display and sale.
Greet customers and provide customer service support for the gallery as needed, presenting a professional and welcoming image.
Create hand-woven items based on patterns, colors, and designs as directed.
Follow procedures for winding warps, weaving items, and removing products from looms, ensuring equipment is kept in good working order.
Complete tasks related to order fulfillment and Weaving Room operations in a timely and efficient manner.
Collaborate with coworkers, following directions and offering support to ensure smooth operations in the Weaving Room.
Represent Crossnore Weavers in a positive and professional manner, ensuring that visitors have a great experience.
Contribute to general gallery operations and other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
Medium (Finisher)
Position involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Frequent walking, standing, and sitting. Frequent reaching and/or grasping using hands and/or arms. Frequent use of hands requiring dexterity in using the telephone, sewing machine, sewing needles, computer keyboard, or other objects. Visual ability including distance, peripheral and depth perception. Ability to spend long periods of time sitting, standing, bending, stooping, and walking around the facility while doing work or assisting customers. Ability to climb stairs.
Heavy (Weaver)
This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing 20 - 50 pounds and occasional lifting of objects heavier than 50 pounds. Frequent walking and standing. Frequent reaching and/or grasping using hands and/or arms. Frequent use of hands requiring dexterity to operate telephone, computer keyboard, or other objects. Visual ability including distance, peripheral and depth perception. Ability to talk and hear. Ability to spend long periods of time standing, bending, stooping, and walking around the facility. Climbing stairs repeatedly. Physical stamina to operate a traditional loom
