We are WAGI WAGI is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to join our Bellevue Clinic. The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care in the Medical Office setting by using sound judgment and cognitive abilities to make patient care decisions based on scientific nursing knowledge, consistent with the needs of the patient. Responsibilities Responsible for all assigned clerical duties associated with WAGI LaboratoryEnsure proper accessioning and labeling of all tissue samplesProcess paperwork associated with accessioning and reportingResponsible for discarding specimen containersPreparing and Processing of Lab SpecimenCompetency with venipunctureEnsure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA regulationsPrepares patient for examination by greeting patient in a positive, professional manner, gathering patient vitals, including weight, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration's, and escorting patient to exam roomUpdates and documents patient's current medications, problem list, allergies, and health history, and relevant problems and/or complaints in the patient medical recordProvides instruction, education, and direction to patients on routine medical questions, procedures and ordered testsAssists patients with prescription refill requests within Washington Gastroenterology policyManages nursing in-box requests and maintains the sample medication supplies and the patient care supply inventorySupports administrative functions of the medical office by assisting the administrative staff when neededObtains insurance authorization for necessary medications prescribed by Washington Gastroenterology providersSchedules patient procedure, lab, and x-ray appointments, as well as follow-up visits for the patientObtains pre-procedure medical clearance from outside providers for patients with cardiac and other high-risk modalitiesDocuments all patient care encounters accurately, completely, and in a timely mannerMaintains exam rooms, cleansing between patients and restocking as needed Qualifications Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant programPrevious experience in a clinical setting preferredCurrent license as MA-C in the State of WashingtonPhlebotomy skills requiredCurrent BLS certificationAs a healthcare organization, the candidate must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Physical Activities and Requirements Occasional travel may be required to other local locations on an as-needed basis to back-fill for vacations, etc.Ability to stand and walk throughout the day, up to 8 hours per dayProlonged periods of sitting and performing administrative duties including the use of computersAbility to bend, twist, stoop, and reachAble to lift and carry supplies and equipment as needed (up to 25 pounds) Compensation and Benefits Employees (and their families) who work full time (defined as working 30 or more hours per week) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and basic life insurance .In addition, employees are able to enroll in our company's 401(k) plan which includes a company provided safe harbor contribution of 3% of annual earnings and the potential for a company discretionary profit-sharing contribution.All employees will be eligible to accrue PTO at a rate of .04 hours per payroll hour (1.6 hours for a 40-hour week) which can be used for and exceeds the required mandatory WA State and other local ordinances. In addition, full time employees will be eligible for a Vacation accrual with a maximum annual accrual of 77 hours as a new hire. WAGI has 8 standard Holidays each year for which full time employees are eligible to receive paid holiday. In addition, full time employees will be given 1 Float Holiday each year that they can schedule.A new hire full time employee in this role will be eligible for a Hiring Bonus in the amount of $3,000.00This is an Hourly position, and the anticipated Compensation range is $20.40-$26.40.
