(The shift is 12 hours, rotating weekends; one week the schedule is 36 hours, the next week the schedule is 48 hours).Job SummaryA Shift Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation and coordination of daily activities within a specific work shift. This position is responsible for overseeing a team of employees, maintaining productivity, and upholding organizational standards. The Shift Supervisor ensures a safe and productive work environment while promoting teamwork and adherence to company policies and procedures.ResponsibilitiesEnsures team leader has machines set-up and ready to run production prior to the start of the shift; make sure all materials needed to run production are thereWork to ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards. Communicate with clarity, making sure all employees understand their targets and responsibilities. Responsible for knowing manufacturing, quality and safety procedures and/or standards and ensuring workers comply.Properly document everything required for manufacturing, quality, shipping, etc.Make sure all employees complete the required job training in a timely manner.Handle minor employee issues; know when to escalate issues to the plant manager and human resources manager.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a similar roleExcellent people and active listening skillsAbility to gain trust and confidence from others.Mechanical aptitudeUse of hand toolsOrganizational and time management skillsAbility to work overtime on short notice.Forklift certified or able to become certified. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and WordSome out-of-town training required (approximately 3 weeks, not consecutive)Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. This position requires bending, kneeling, and stooping occasionally. The employee must occasionally lift or move items up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires sitting for long periods of time using a computer.
