Job DescriptionObstetrician-Gynecologist (OB-GYN) (MD/DO)Position SummaryThe Obstetrician-Gynecologist provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to women across the lifespan. This role includes obstetric care, gynecologic care, preventive health services, and surgical management of reproductive health conditions, with a focus on evidence-based, patient-centered care.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive obstetric care, including prenatal care, labor and delivery management, and postpartum follow-upDiagnose and manage high-risk and low-risk pregnancies, as applicableProvide gynecologic care including well-woman exams, contraception counseling, and management of menstrual and menopausal disordersDiagnose and treat gynecologic conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, and abnormal uterine bleedingPerform gynecologic and obstetric surgical procedures consistent with training and privileges, including minimally invasive techniquesPerform cervical cancer screening, colposcopy, and other office-based proceduresCollaborate with maternal-fetal medicine, primary care, pediatrics, surgery, and other specialistsEducate patients regarding reproductive health, pregnancy, and preventive careMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentationParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical outcomes initiativesSupervise and collaborate with residents, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff as applicableComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standardsQualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency programBoard-eligible or board-certified in Obstetrics and GynecologyAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensureDEA registration or eligibilitySkills and CompetenciesBroad expertise in obstetric and gynecologic careStrong clinical judgment and surgical skillsExcellent communication and patient counseling abilitiesAbility to manage both routine and complex women’s health conditionsCommitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered careWork EnvironmentOutpatient clinics, hospital labor and delivery units, operating rooms, and inpatient wardsCall coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays as determined by practice needsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods during procedures and deliveriesManual dexterity for surgical and office-based proceduresVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient care and operative environments
