Position DescriptionLocation Area Needed: Central North Dakota (Minot, Bismarck)Park Construction Company is a regional Highway/Heavy contractor established in Minneapolis, MN and Fargo, ND. We are searching for experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics with the Local 49 in the eastern North Dakota area. The right person will demonstrate a high safety standard and ability to work in a team environment. Repair & maintenance of all Park owned & rental equipment and vehicles. Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment. Driving to the various job sites. Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles. Performing major repair work when necessary. Consulting with other mechanics on jobs. Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management. Assemble mechanical components according to specifications. Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems. Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades. Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records. Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users. Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance. Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines. Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs. Maintain a clean and safe work area. This position is classified as Safety Sensitive NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Position RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED certificate Post-secondary certificate or degree in engineering OR training as a mechanic (a plus) Minimum 3 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic. Proficient welding skills necessary. Manual dexterity Valid class "B" driver's license with air brake endorsement and a clean driving record. Understanding of computer testing technologies. Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment. Ability to work after-hours and weekends, if required. Good communication skills. Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
