Role Description This is a Contract role for a PostgreSQL Database Administrator at CollaboraIT Inc. The PostgreSQL Database Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases across development, test, and production environments. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring database performance, tuning queries, managing indexes, and optimizing storage to ensure high availability and reliability. The role involves implementing backup and recovery strategies, performing regular health checks, and managing security configurations, roles, and permissions. The administrator will collaborate with application development and DevOps teams to support deployments, troubleshoot database-related issues, and automate routine tasks using scripts and tools. The position also includes documenting database architectures, maintaining standards and best practices, and contributing to continuous improvement in database operations.QualificationsBS/BA degree and 14+ years of prior relevant DBA experience or Masters with 12+ years of prior relevant DBA experience; OR 4 years of experience in lieu of degree4+ years’ experience tuning Aurora PostgreSQL database performance and PL/pgSQL scripts to optimize performance4+ years’ experience as an AWS Aurora PostgreSQL DBA in a 24x7 environment managing multiple databases of over 70TB.Individual must have at least 4+ years’ experience as an Oracle DBA in a 24x7 environment supporting databases of over 200TBProficiency in tuning Oracle Databases and troubleshooting performance issues.Able to support on-call schedule and incident resolution.
