Working in a team-based environment, our mission is to help patients optimize their urological health.Job OverviewWe are seeking a professional and experienced Pharmacy Technician who will serve the needs of the patients by processing orders and educating them on products and services between our 3 locations (2 Virginia Beach locations and 1 Suffolk location). Primarily in the Suffolk office.Duties and ResponsibilitiesReceive written prescriptions, electronic prescriptions or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurateProcess prescription claims through dispensary softwareMaintain records as required by local, state, and federal government regulationsPossess an understanding and knowledge of current local, state, and federal government regulationsMaintain proper storage and security conditions for drugsCollect patient copays and balance receipts at the end of the day. Turns in funds collected to finance department daily for bank depositMaintain acceptable levels of stock. Creates drug order as needed and submits to supervisor for approvalMaintain LHRH and BCG inventory and logDispenses LHRH/BCG to clinical staff. Records date, patient name, medical record number and dosage on inventory logProvide manager with the LHRH/BCG log by the 5th business day of every monthBalances LHRH/BCG log and Athena report at month end. Tracks down, corrects discrepancies and alerts supervisor of any discrepancies not correctedPlaces order for LHRH and BCG bi-monthlyReceives drug order and verifies delivery against orderRequired License/Experience/SkillsMaintain Certified Pharmacy Technician License in the state of VirginiaStrong oral and written communication skills for corresponding with physicians, patients, and fellow employeesMust be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levelsProficient in typing (65 wpm)Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentProficient in Microsoft Office, specifically strong in ExcelExcellent customer service skillsPreferred License/Experience/SkillsExperience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
