Construction Supervisor

Construction SupervisorThe Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all field construction activities related to the expansion of i3 Broadband's fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network. This role provides leadership across construction operations, contractor performance, quality control, and community engagement to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in alignment with approved designs, permits, and company standards.The Construction Supervisor serves as the primary field leader and is accountable for maintaining strong relationships with contractors, municipalities, and the communities in which i3 operates.Key ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & Construction OversightManage day-to-day construction activities across assigned marketsEnsure all work is performed in accordance with approved construction drawings, permits, and industry standardsMaintain consistent field presence to verify production, quality, and safety complianceTrack production across underground and aerial construction activitiesIdentify risks to schedule, budget, or quality and ensure timely resolutionKeep the Construction Manager informed of status and risksCoordinate with inspectors and quality control teams as neededContractor & Performance ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for construction contractors and their supervisorsHold contractors accountable for safety, quality, production, and reporting standardsAddress performance issues and escalate as necessaryEnsure crews are properly staffed, trained, and equippedPlans, Permits & ComplianceEnsure all work aligns with approved permits and municipal requirementsInterface with local agencies and permit authorities to resolve issues or secure approvalsCoordinate with Engineering to resolve field conflicts and document changesEnforce safety policies, damage prevention practices, and regulatory complianceCommunity & Stakeholder EngagementOversee communication with municipalities, neighborhood associations, and key stakeholdersSupport proactive outreach efforts to ensure communities are informed of construction activitiesAddress escalated resident concerns and ensure timely resolutionReinforce i3 Broadband's brand through professional representation in the fieldQuality & ReportingEnsure accurate documentation of construction progress, changes, and issuesMonitor inspection feedback and ensure corrective actions are implementedKeep Construction Manager informed of project status, risks, and performance metricsQualificationsEducation and Experience:5+ years of experience in telecommunications or utility construction2+ years in a supervisory or leadership roleAbility to read and interpret construction drawingsWorking knowledge of utility locate processes and 811 requirementsValid driver's license with clean driving recordExperience with both underground and aerial construction (preferred)FTTH construction experience (preferred)Experience managing multiple contractors and crews (preferred)Skills and Competencies:Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilityEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced field environmentCustomer-focused mindset with a professional and approachable demeanorProficiency in Microsoft Office and field reporting systemsValid driver's license with clean driving recordWorking Conditions:Field-based role with regular site visitsOutdoor work in active construction environments and varying weather conditionsTravel within assigned markets; occasional extended hours or weekends as neededFrequent walking, bending, and lifting (up to 75lbs)Equal Opportunity:i3 Broadband is an equal-opportunity workplace that respects the diversity of our customer base and our team.
