Senior Support Engineer – Nuclear Online Work Management100% Remote12-month Contract with Potential for Extension/Hire**Unable to do C2C or Provide Sponsorship**Brooksource is seeking a Senior Support Engineer to support the Nuclear Online Work Management initiative at one of our largest Fortune 200 energy generation clients. Our client is modernizing how non-outage nuclear work is planned, prioritized, and executed by transitioning from a traditional long-range, waterfall scheduling model to a continuous, data-driven approach across its nuclear fleet. As new capabilities are introduced into the Nuclear Online Work Management environment, this team will play a critical role in ensuring applications, data pipelines, integrations, and AI-enabled solutions operate reliably within a highly regulated nuclear environment.The Senior Support Engineer will provide hands-on technical and production support across application, data, integration, and cloud environments. This individual will take ownership of complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive issues through resolution in partnership with engineering teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with SQL/database technologies, Azure, and Databricks, along with the technical depth to troubleshoot complex data and application issues across a modern enterprise platform.This is not a traditional help desk or end-user support role. The Senior Support Engineer will serve as a technical resource across the platform, working closely with software engineering, data engineering, data science, cloud, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot production issues, support releases and deployments, implement minor fixes when appropriate, and proactively improve platform stability and reliability.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent professional experience7+ years of professional experience in technical support, production support, application support, software engineering, database engineering, data engineering, or a related technical roleStrong experience troubleshooting complex application, data, integration, and production issuesDemonstrated experience with root cause analysis and resolving issues across multiple layers of a technology stackStrong experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based application environmentsHands-on experience with Databricks and modern data platformsStrong SQL/database knowledge, including experience investigating data issues, queries, database behavior, or performanceAbility to interpret application logs, error messages, system behavior, and data outputs during technical investigationsUnderstanding of data engineering and data science concepts and how data platforms integrate with enterprise applicationsWorking knowledge of modern application technologies such as React, Node.js, and JavaScriptExperience supporting enterprise applications in production environmentsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to work effectively across multiple technical disciplines in a highly regulated, process-driven environmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience supporting data-intensive, AI-enabled, or analytics-driven enterprise applicationsExperience with AI/ML technologies, AI-enabled applications, or data science platformsExperience with Azure services such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, or Azure DevOpsExperience with Databricks technologies including notebooks, jobs, workflows, SQL, Delta Lake, or data pipelinesExperience with React, Node.js, JavaScript, or full-stack application environmentsExperience with IT Service Management processes including Incident, Problem, and Change ManagementExperience supporting enterprise applications through releases, deployments, testing, and post-production validationExperience within the energy, utilities, nuclear, or another highly regulated industryUnderstanding of software development lifecycle and Agile delivery practicesExperience creating troubleshooting documentation, runbooks, knowledge articles, or standard operating proceduresResponsibilities:Provide day-to-day technical and production support for the Nuclear Online Work Management platform and its supporting technologiesOwn technical issues from initial investigation through resolution, involving the appropriate engineering teams when neededInvestigate application, data, integration, and system issues to determine the source and impact of failuresPerform detailed root cause analysis and develop or coordinate appropriate resolutionsTroubleshoot applications and data workflows across Azure and Databricks environmentsAnalyze SQL queries, database behavior, application logs, system outputs, data pipelines, and user workflows during technical investigationsSupport applications utilizing React and Node.js by diagnosing application behavior and implementing minor fixes when appropriateTranslate business and user-reported problems into clear technical issues and actionable information for engineering teamsSupport testing, validation, releases, deployments, and post-deployment activities for platform enhancementsIdentify recurring issues and recommend technical or process improvements to increase platform stability and reduce operational disruptionDevelop and maintain runbooks, troubleshooting procedures, incident documentation, and knowledge articlesCommunicate technical findings, root causes, and resolutions to technical teams and business stakeholdersSupport the reliability and ongoing improvement of new data-driven and AI-enabled capabilities within the platformCollaborate
