Job Description Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. This temporary contract role offers an opportunity for fast placement and to contribute valuable skills in a dynamic work environment.Location: Roanoke, VA 24019Type: Temporary/ContractDuration: 13 weeks (potential temp-to-hire)Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PMKey Responsibilities:Accurately process prescriptions and handle insurance adjudications, resolving any rejections promptlyPrepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verificationPerform data entry tasks and manage prescription documentation with attention to detailCommunicate effectively with patients, prescribers, and team members via phone and other channelsMaintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviewsAssist with returns, medication quarantines, and destruction processesCross-train across various pharmacy functions to support overall department needsEnsure strict compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulationsQualifications and Desired Experience:High School diploma or GED requiredPTCB certification and active VA pharmacy technician license in good standingMinimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience, with retail experience strongly preferredComfortable using Microsoft Office applications and confident in making phone callsStrong multitasking, organizational, and time management abilitiesExcellent communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and internal teamsThis role is ideal for a pharmacy technician who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and is ready to hit the ground running with minimal interview requirements.If you meet these qualifications and are available to start within 1.5 to 2 weeks after an offer, we encourage you to apply.
