Our staff benefit from structured mentorship, weekly professional development, and a collaborative school culture.POSITION SUMMARYThe Elementary Teacher delivers engaging, data-driven instruction in a K-5 classroom setting, manages classroom culture, and supports the whole-child development of each student.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree requiredValid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate elementary endorsement, or eligibility for certification through the Michigan State Board of EducationCandidates who do not yet hold a Michigan teaching certificate may qualify through enrollment in GEE's Career Advancement Program (CAP), which provides a supported pathway to Michigan certification. CAP eligibility is determined at the time of application.Satisfactory criminal background checkCORE RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and deliver standards-aligned instruction that produces measurable student growthBuild positive, achievement-focused relationships with studentsUse formative and summative assessment data to adjust instruction and meet individual student needsImplement a tiered system of support within the classroomCoordinate instruction within and across grade levelsCommunicate regularly with parents, coaches, and administrators regarding student progressParticipate in professional development, staff meetings, and collaborative planning sessionsMaintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom environmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods.
