We are seeking a high-caliber Business Development Lead (Government Contracts) to turn our 40 years of commercial aviation expertise into a high-performing government revenue stream. Who are we? The Mission We are leveraging our extensive sourcing network and ASA-100 accreditation to capture U.S. government contracts. You are the Revenue Engine. Your mission is to scale Skylink's footprint within the U.S. Federal market by identifying, qualifying, and capturing aviation spare parts opportunities that match our inventory and sourcing capabilities. 🎯 Scope of WorkOpportunity Discovery: Monitor SAM.gov, USAspending.gov, DLA DIBBS, and DLA Procurement Forecasts to identify solicitations matching Skylink’s inventory and sourcing capabilities.Bid Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of government opportunities. Manage the bid tracker (Google Sheets) with solicitation details, deadlines, status, and outcomes.Bid/No-Bid Analysis: Develop and apply a repeatable bid/no-bid decision framework. Evaluate solicitations for margin potential, competitive landscape, compliance requirements, and alignment with Skylink’s capabilities.Bid Preparation & Submission: Lead the bid packaging process including pricing strategy, compliance documentation, and submission through SAM.gov or DLA DIBBS.Competitive Intelligence: Identify and track competitors winning similar aircraft parts contracts. Analyze competitor positioning and pricing where publicly available.REDSet-Aside Strategy: Leverage applicable small business set-aside categories (WOSB, SDB, etc.) to maximize Skylink’s competitive advantage.Platform Targeting: Identify which aircraft platforms (e.g., KC-46, C-130, F-16, B737 military variants) represent the highest-value opportunities for Skylink’s existing inventory. 🎯 90-Day Pilot Success Metrics10 qualified opportunities identified and entered into the bid tracker within 60 days.Bid/no-bid framework developed and applied to at least 5 opportunities within 60 days.At least 2 bids submitted within 90 days.Target platform analysis completed with recommendations within 45 days.Competitor landscape report delivered within 60 days. Skills & Requirements5+ years of government Business Development experience with demonstrated contract wins in DoD or DLA procurement.Direct experience with aircraft parts, MRO, or aerospace supply chain government contracting.Strong knowledge of DLA DIBBS, SAM.gov solicitation processes, and small business set-aside programs.Proven track record of helping small-to-mid-sized companies win government contracts over $100K.Understanding of FAR/DFARS pricing and compliance requirements for parts procurement.Comfortable working in a fractional capacity and collaborating via Google Workspace and Asana. 💰 Compensation & StructureModel: Hourly Base + Commission on Contract Awards.Term: Ongoing/ Fractional Contractor EngagementStatus: Fully Remote.90-day pilot with potential to extend -Ready to drive our government revenue?🚀 Apply today ---Skylink is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
