Tax Manager
Job DescriptionOwnership of corporate income tax matters across assigned jurisdictions.Assist with the preparation of tax provisions and statutory tax disclosures for statutory accounts and group financial statements.Direct interaction with tax authorities on tax-related matters.Support global tax initiatives, including Pillar Two and transfer pricing.Apply complex cross-border tax regimes and principles to minimize non-compliance risks.Manage outsourced tax workstreams and internal tax-related projects.ResponsibilitiesAssimilate and review data to ensure the integrity of tax-sensitive items used in reporting and compliance matters.Review annual corporation tax returns prepared internally or by professional advisors.Review supporting documentation for estimated tax payments.Support the wider Seadrill Tax Team in Pillar Two compliance activities.Support the wider Seadrill Tax Team with provision of data for transfer pricing and country-by-country reporting requirements.Prepare tax computations supporting tax provisions and disclosures for inclusion in statutory accounts and the group’s consolidated financial statements.Review and maintain reconciliations of tax balances recorded in the ledgers.Manage responses to enquiries from tax authorities.Collaborate with Seadrill Tax Team members, other internal groups, and professional advisors to support global projects and tax planning initiatives.Support the wider Seadrill Tax Team and other internal groups responsible for indirect tax compliance matters, including VAT, sales and use tax, and withholding taxes.QualificationsMinimum four (4) years of experience in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department.Working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, or other jurisdictional accounting standards (e.g., UK GAAP).Working knowledge of corporate income taxation principles, including tax accounting methods, jurisdictional nexus and source rules, entity classification, group taxation, and consolidation regimes.Familiarity with advanced Excel techniques and tax return preparation and provision software.Strong analytical skills with the ability to operate in a fast-changing environment and manage ambiguity.Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of complex matters from inception through completion.Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.Sound judgment in applying complex tax law and cross-border tax principles.Ability to develop tax positions and support those positions with tax authorities and auditors.DesiredFamiliarity with cross-border taxation principles and regimes, including residence vs. source-based taxation, CFC regimes, permanent establishment concepts, tax treaty principles, and transfer pricing.Working knowledge of ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes).Familiarity with the OECD Pillar Two Global Anti-Base Erosion (GloBE) rules and global minimum tax concepts.Familiarity with Oracle or Oracle Fusion Cloud systems.Experience combining both tax compliance and advisory workAbout UsSAFETY AT SEADRILLOur goal is to ensure that ‘nobody gets hurt' whilst performing their job.
