Our team at Prairie Lakes makes a difference in the lives of patients and their loved onesPosition SummaryWage: $35.50-$52.96Provides supervisory nursing care for 24/7 nursing departments by established standards, policies, procedures, licensure, and scope of practice.ResponsibilitiesUtilizes the nursing process in providing care and includes the process in documentation, identifying unusual conditions, and utilizing initiative and judgment to carry out appropriate responses.Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the Physician and/or hospital policy including instruction to the patient, family, and others, as identified.Observes and assesses patients as indicated; records significant conditions and reactions.Administers prescribed medications and treatments per approved nursing techniques.Receives, transcribes, and communicates physician ordersMonitors and performs bed control and patient placement for the CCU, TU, OB, ER, and MSP units.Receives report from the House Supervisor on the census of the units and expected admissions, discharges, and transfer activity.Carries the House Supervisor's cell phone and is readily available at all times; immediate member of all response teams including Code Blue Team, Trauma Team, rapid response alert, Fire Alert, and disaster alert.Works with staff nurses to complete necessary processes for admissions, discharges, and transfers.Identify the needs of staff and show expertise and guidance to other staff membersResponds promptly to customer needs; Manages difficult or emotional customer concerns or situations.Maintains confidentiality, and focuses on solving conflict. Offers support, and encouragement to staff members.Contributes to building a positive team spirit and teamwork. Builds morale, balances, and divides the responsibilities and assignments of the staff members.Delegates work assignments; Matches the responsibility to the person, sets expectations and monitors delegated activities.Inspires respect and trust of team members, and supports staff members to succeed. Use equipment and materials properly.JOB SPECIFICATIONSEducation And/or ExperienceGraduate of an approved Registered Nurse Program.
