Metrology Technician

This technician will assist in developing test methods for inspection of medical devices manufactured in a facility that is registered to ISO 13485, and in some scope accredited to ISO 17025.As a uniquely qualified candidate, you will:Perform dimensional metrology on precision vascular devices and components.Program dimensional inspection routines with automated optical inspection tools, such as MicroVuReview and contribute to the design and development of metrology fixtures, tools and softwareWork with closely with Manufacturing, Process Development, and R&D Engineers to support existing metrology processesHandle Metrology equipment PM, calibration, and general laboratory auditing and maintenanceTrain Manufacturing Operators and Technicians on metrology processes and best practicesDemonstrate best practices in optical and other metrology techniquesPossess competency in reading and understanding mechanical dimensioning, tolerances and engineering specsHave the ability to work in a matrix organization and contribute to the projectsHave demonstrated a sense of ownership for work and prove leadership qualitiesHave strong team skills and the ability to work professionally with all teammatesEducation and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Certification or Associates degree a plus.A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Metrology or similar photonics field or QualityFormal or on-the-job training of MicroVu or similar metrology equipmentMust possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to read and write technical documentationIntermediate mathematical skills and understanding of basic math and geometry.Strong understanding of measurement concepts and ability to interpret engineering drawings per ASME and ISO standards.
