Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 PM - 4:00 AM
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Clearance: Secret
Position Summary
The Floor Technician is responsible for providing floor care in accordance with the floor maintenance schedule and contract requirements in support of the DOS FCU. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the FCU contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the Department of State.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform routine floor care and maintenance to include the following examples:
Bare and Tile Floors:
Wet mopping of bare floors shall be cleaned using disinfectant cleaner(s)with additional scrubbing, if necessary, floors shall be slip-resistant.
Surfaces, baseboards, and corners shall be clean and dry.
Walls, baseboards, and other surfaces shall be free of splashing and markings from the equipment with no visible buildup of finish in corners or crevices.
ADP/Data Center Floors:
Damp mopping shall be the only method of wet cleaning for floors in Automated Data Processing (ADP)/Data Center spaces.
Asphalt Floors:
Damp mopping shall be the only method of wet cleaning for floors containing asphalt material.
Granite and Marble Floors:
All applicable floor areas shall be maintained in accordance with industry standards, and the standard identified by the site project manager.
Carpet:
Maintain carpet of facility.
Regular maintenance of all floor finishes:
Stripping Floors:
Old finish or wax shall be removed in accordance with standard commercial practices, spots shall be eliminated, and no evidence of gum, burns, scuff marks, or wax build-up in corners or crevices.
When operating floor scrubbing machinery, there shall be no evidence of water or streaks upon completion of work.
Finishing Floors:
Walls, baseboards, and other surfaces shall be free of finish residue and marks from equipment.
Floors shall be free of streaks, mop strand marks, and skipped areas.
The applied finished area shall have a uniform luster.
Sealing Floors:
Sealant must adhere to the floor.
Floor areas must be evenly coated with a slip-resistant seal.
Operate flooring equipment including extractors and buffing machines.
Drive vehicle for travel across the facility to various buildings.
May have to move equipment and supplies either manually or by using a hand truck.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must have ability to maintain assigned work hours.
Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
Complete required compliance training as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills
Possess and demonstrate a courteous and positive attitude toward customers.
Ability to read, write, and understand policies, procedures, and operating instructions in English.
Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks.
Must have knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
Education & Work Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience servicing flooring of various types.
Basic computer skills-PC to include computer usage, internet, and email.

Special Requirements
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test, criminal record check, and motor vehicle check.
Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
Work Environment
Employees will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. The essential duties of this job are performed indoors and potentially outdoors and may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as extreme weather, extreme temperature and noise fluctuations, dust, vibrations, machinery, and hazardous materials.
Physical Demands
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employees must be able to stand for extended periods of time and walk continuously throughout their shift; may need to operate medium-weight cleaning equipment, such as mop and floor scrubbing machinery; need to move, lift, push, pull, and carry items that typically weigh up to 50 lbs., such as furniture, cleaning equipment, and chemical containers. The ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, stoop, crouch, and may also need to reach with their hands and arms and use their muscles for extended periods will be required for this position. The work may involve moderate exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, and unpleasant odors. Employees must have the endurance to perform repetitive tasks over extended periods.
