Our associates celebrate lives. We celebrate our associates.Boat Crew & Service Assistant reports directly to the Captain. They are responsible for maintaining the vessel's state of readiness while instructing and assisting the families throughout the entirety of the voyage and sea scattering service.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESSAFETYMaintains passenger safety about the vessel.Acts as First Responder in the event of any marine casualty, including but not limited to, INJURY, MOB, FIRE, FLOODING, GROUNDING, and ANCHORINGGUEST SERVICESCoordinates the events and timing of the voyage and scattering servicePhysically assists guests with mobility and stability needsProvides a warm and attentive presence to all guests aboard M/V NaiadVESSEL READINESSKeeps the vessel stocked with supplies, before, during, and after each tripKeeps the vessel ready constantly. Maintains cleanliness of vessel, both interior and exteriorMaintains dock cleanlinessCleans heads, empties trash, washes the vessel, and wipes down surfacesLoads stores and suppliesCompletes paperwork and logs related to voyage and sea scattering services.SERVICE DIRECTING RESPONSIBILITIES:Conducting the Urn Run from San Francisco to Belmont on Mondays (valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required)Performing heavy lifting as neededMaking weekly calls to families on TuesdaysWorking aboard the boat and Service Directing three days per week (Wednesday–Friday in San Francisco)Guiding families through sea scattering ceremonies with professionalism and careOverseeing the boat's interior and assisting the deckhand with securing the vesselMaintaining strong organization and administrative standardsCommunicating clearly and compassionately with familiesDemonstrating excellent customer service and interpersonal skillsCarrying a calm, composed demeanor with a strong sense of urgency when needed.MINIMUM RequirementsEducationHigh School diplomaCollege courses preferredExperiencePrevious experience with vessel operations & maintenance preferred.Certification/LicenseCPR certification preferred.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBasic seamanshipExcellent interpersonal skillsWork CONDITIONSWork EnvironmentWorking both dockside and underway in outdoor environment.
